Pretty cool (for what its worth)

I think this is a good start, but it could definitely use some work. That high pitched synth (the delayed 8th note) gets too loud and piercing a lot. Also, that hissy percussion sound is WAY too loud a lot of the time. I think you could use some more harmonization, maybe some strings. I hope you keep working on this because it sounds good so far.

superchao responds:

Yeah, I definitely agree with you. Most of this stuff was done experimenting with different filters and gating techniques, so yeah, it was basically a hit and miss run, with more misses than hits, lol. :P
And yeah, I've been meaning to add something to the effect of strings, because my original goal was to make this as ambient as possible, so I'll hopefully have that fixed up soon, lol.

Thank you again for your review, and I'm happy to recieve the advice you're giving me. :)

nice

I don't know much about mandolins, but it sounds like you were playing up a storm on that thing. I'd love to hear a remix of this with some more instrumentation added.

cluttered a bit

You have a pretty decent arrangement here, but it sounds very cluttered, and having a piano as the lead is kind weak for an orchestral song of this magnitude. The cymbals are also overused and most of the percussion is overpowering.

Good start, but it needs a lot of work

Thank you for your review! :) You make valid points, and I will definitely remember them when I make another song in this style. Thanks again for your review! I really appreciate getting the feedback and constructive criticism. :)

awesome

Hardcore dude! I Love it! My only complaint is that the levels are so high it's clipping a lot.

Thanks for the Comment!

Yeah I know the sound waves are lagging, Thats because the program was crashing most of the time so I had to redo the Volume and so on, I am greatful for the score and review!

nice

Hey this is pretty cool. I think some elements need to be toned down a bit, like that backup synth...it's acting like a lead with its comparitive volume and EQ to the guitar (which Im assuming is the main lead)

XxX-WOLF-XxX responds:

Hey thanx a lot man.
Yeah, i see what your saying, i'll work on that.

weird

Kinda freaky man...but not bad

Levels

Hey man...this sounds pretty cool, but you gotta fix your levels. So many things are in the lead when they shouldn't be (at least they dont sound like they should). Im not familiar with the original, but Id like to hear certain things pushed back and others brought forward...like that guitar lead and vocals.

thedwexperience responds:

yeah its kindof like i was going for a jazz metal hybrid... that is an undertaking. its supposed to be kindof mellow. read the dude below yous's coment and my reply.

and come back when it says its finished!!!

Not bad...

Pretty decent start, but it needs work on the leads and backups harmonizing melodically and into the mix. Like the lead just doesn't sit well with everything else.

Got a classic sound to it

Yeah, this is some pretty solid stuff...love the wizzy sound you got going on there. It's little stuff like that which keeps trance & techno songs more original and more fun to listen to.

Pretty cool

I can see how my CSC reminded you of this, I could see both tracks being used for different portions of an ingame zone, particularly someplace cold and icey. Anyway, I like the wintery electronica you got going here. The only thing which bugs me a bit is the clipping...you may want to add in a compressor for some of your synths.

Extraordinary things can happen if you believe in yourself.
